Calendula officinalis Glycerite, a non-alcohol tincture.
There are many uses for Calendula, both topically and internally. The flower contains many different antioxidant groups including lutein, lycopene, beta-carotene, quercitin, rutin, and a host of others.
Calendula is one of the best for skin complaints: rashes, stings, insect bites, sunburns, scrapes, eczema. And a wonderful addition to your first aid kit.
If you’re seeking an herb to help with digestive issues Calendula can offer relief for heartburn, peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
One study of radiation patients compared it favorably to trolamine for treatment of acute dermatitis. https://ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/JCO.2004.07.063
I grow calendula myself in raised beds of organic compost and worm castings. This is made from the fresh, organic flowers that I harvest myself. Handmade in small batches, double infused (twice the plant material used).

Pure & Potent
Glycerites have a shelf life of approximately one to two years if stored in a cool, dark place like a cabinet or fridge.
As an alternative to alcohol-based medicinal tinctures taken by mouth. For oral use, always consult your health care practitioner, physician, and or veterinarian. Adult dosage is typically 30-60 drops (1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon), taken daily in a little water.
Glycerites also commonly used as a Humectant/Moisturizer ingredient in personal care and cosmetic products. Easily absorbed into the skin and hair, making active ingredients (herbs) in the product easier for the skin and hair to absorb. A great ingredient to use in your recipes for cold process soap, salve, lip balm, lotion, body scrub, body butter, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and more.
For personal care & cosmetic product makers, use 10 to 15% glycerite of your oil/water/butter liquid volume in an existing recipe. Use topically straight or diluted for specific therapeutic or cosmetic purposes.
For topical use, apply a dab on fingertip and rub into desired areas.
