Concentrated organic Hawthorn Glycerite. Made with equal parts  flowers, leaves and berries.

Glycerites can be used topically and orally. Commonly used by formulators as a powerful ingredient in creating their products.

Hawthorn (Crataegus crus-galli) berries, flowers and leaves double extracted in organic vegetable glycerin.

Hawthorn may help prevent premature skin aging caused by collagen degradation due to excessive sun or ultraviolet light exposure and is a commonly used ingredient in many commercial health growth products. Researchers suggest that the polyphenol content within the hawthorn berry may cause this beneficial effect on hair.

Hawthorn may help protect against heart disease and help control high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Studies suggest hawthorn may increases coronary artery blood flow, improves circulation, and lower blood pressure. It has also been used on the skin to treat boils and skin sores.

The fruits and flowers of many hawthorns are well-known historically in herbal folk medicine as a heart tonic and modern research has borne out this use. The fruits and flowers can have a hypotensive effect as well as acting as a direct and mild heart tonic. They are especially indicated in the treatment of weak heart combined with high blood pressure. Prolonged use is necessary for it to be most effective.

Caution - Hawthorn might slow blood clotting and increase the risk of bleeding during and after surgery. Stop using hawthorn at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.

 How to use glycerin herbal extracts:

For personal care & cosmetic product makers, use 10 to 15% glycerite of your oil/water/butter liquid volume in an existing recipe.

Topically, dab on the fingertip and rub into the affected area.

Orally, always consult your health care practitioner, physician, and or veterinarian. Adult dosage is typically 30-60 drops (1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon), taken daily in a little water.
